This tool blurs the full frame at a uniform radius. It does not detect a subject and blur only the background — that requires segmentation, which is a different operation with different reliability. Saying so up front is more useful than implying a capability the tool does not have.
If you are hiding sensitive information
A light blur can sometimes be reversed or read by enlarging and squinting, especially on text and number plates. For anything genuinely private, use a strong radius, verify the result at full size, and prefer covering the area with a solid shape. Also remember blur does not remove EXIF data — location and device details stay in the file unless you strip them.
Frequently asked questions
- What radius should I use?
- 2–6 px softens; 10–20 px makes a usable background; above 30 px the content is unrecognisable at normal size.
- Can blurred text be recovered?
- Sometimes, at low radii. Do not rely on a mild blur to redact confidential information.
