Page numbering is what you see

Page 1 is the first sheet of the document, regardless of what is printed on it. A report whose cover is unnumbered and whose body restarts at 1 will still be addressed here by physical position, which is the only unambiguous way to do it.

Extracted pages keep their original size and rotation, so a landscape table pulled out of a portrait report stays landscape.

Sharing part of a document

Extracting is the safe way to send someone two pages of a twenty-page contract: the recipient gets a document that contains only those pages, rather than a full file with the rest hidden by a viewer setting. Nothing that was on the other pages remains inside the file.

Does the order I type matter?
Pages come out in document order. To reorder them, use Organise PDF, which is built for arranging pages.
Can I extract from a scanned PDF?
Yes. Scanned pages are images inside the PDF and are copied exactly as they are.
