How to use it

Page size decides how it prints

A4 with a margin gives a document that prints correctly on any office printer and keeps a consistent look when the images differ in shape; portrait and landscape pages are chosen per image so nothing is squeezed. Fitting the page to the image instead produces a PDF with no border at all, which is what you want for a photo book or a set of screenshots.

Images are embedded, not re-encoded

A JPG is placed into the PDF as the same JPEG data it already was, so there is no second round of lossy compression and the document is roughly the sum of your images. If that is too large for email, compress the images first rather than compressing the finished PDF.

Which formats can I add?
JPG and PNG, the two raster formats the PDF specification embeds directly. Convert WebP, HEIC or TIFF with the image converter first.
Does a transparent PNG stay transparent?
Transparency is preserved in the PDF, and shows as white on most printers since paper has no alpha channel.
